E-mail Configuration for Outlook Express
Required: An E-mail account should aready be created on the Exchange Server, a wired Internet connection on campus or VPN with uf.
Basic settings: mail.ufl.edu for the incoming and outgoing server address
Open Outlook Express – Click on Tools & then Accounts.
The user will then be prompted to enter their name. After typing it in, if it’s not filled in automatically, click Next.
The user will need to enter their email address, then click Next
The client will now have to enter their username and password.
The client then needs to configure the incoming mail server to IMAP. The IMAP address imap.mail.ufl.edu. The SMTP server smtp.ufl.edu
Once you have completed the Internet Connection Wizard, click on your accounts Properties Settings. Under the Servers tab, ensure that you select My Server Requires Authentication
Finally, under the Advanced tab, ensure that the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server is set to port 25 and that the Incoming mail (IMAP) port is set to 993.
